Which Car Do I Buy?

The most common 2WD cars raced at the moment are:

X-Factory X6 Squared

The X – 6² is the most proven mid-motor buggy in the world. In 2009 the Squared won 9 different National Championships, and 2010 is continuing that tradition. Ellis Stafford won the U.K. National Championship in 2009 for the second year in a row and TQed the European Championship. Think it's only for Europe? Mike Ciresi won the 2009 Michigan Off-Road Series with his X – 6² on some of the most blown-out outdoor ‘gas tracks' you'll see. Yuichi Ajishi finished 5th at the 2009 All-Japan Championship Race. X Factory’s buggies are winning races in the all over the world.
Moving the motor inboard just makes sense. Tires only have so much traction; the motor hanging out the back acts like a pendulum in corners, causing the driver to dance on the edge of control waiting for the rear end to step out. With more concentrated mass, the X – 6 Squared carries more corner speed and is much more predictable. The mid-motor design also handles bumps better and is stable in the air. Simply put, it’s easier to drive fast.

Team Assoicated RC10 B4

Team Associated’s B4 is the latest generation of the 5-time IFMAR World Championship-winning heritage of RC10 buggies.
As far back as 1989, there were grainy spy photos and a few sporadic sightings of a radical new buggy under development by Team Associated. Then at the 1991 IFMAR World Offroad Championships in Detroit, the Team unveiled their hand-built prototype cars, noted for their distinctive front suspensions and unusual shock mounting locations. Masami Hirosaka piloted the RC10 buggy to the World Championship win, and the prototypes were whisked back to Team Associated's California R&D department (Area 51) where they would not emerge for over a decade.

Kyosho ZX5

With its heritage built at the top of the racing world, the famous LAZER ZX-5 chassis has undergone a complete regeneration. This model is based on the FS conversion kit and not the SP competition kit held in high regard by many competition drivers.
The new layout features a 10mm longer wheelbase and the motor and spur gear are positioned as far forward as possible. This combines with the 3 by 3 battery layout to produce optimal weight distribution and results in ideal surface pressure from the tires for effective traction and sure-footed turning.

Team Losi XXX-4

The Team Losi XXX-4 has reinvigorated interest in 4WD electric off-road because it’s as easy to maintain as most 2WD buggies, as well as outperforming everything else in its class. With the new Graphite Plus version, Team Losi engineers have pushed the performance envelope even further by adding super-lightweight graphite chassis components, a Kevlar spur gear, titanium nitride-coated hinge pins and a whole lot more. No upgrades are needed. Everything a serious 4WD competitor could possibly want is in the box.

Team Durango DEX410

The Team Durango DEX410's unique drivetrain is designed to win. The centre driveshafts are positioned over the batteries keeping the weight centred and low in the DEX410's narrow aluminium chassis, lowering the centre of gravity, aiding stability and control both on the track and in the air! The power from your motor is fed directly into the centre mounted quick release spur gear and adjustable slipper clutch assembly, down the precision milled centre driveshafts into the fully enclosed metal gear differentials and finally to the wheels via the ballraced and rubber booted steel driveshafts. All of this ensures perfect power delivery and elimates transmission slip; apart from what you choose to dial-in on the adjustable slipper clutch.
