The track rebuild is starting to take shape. Many thanks to all the members who have helped out so far. Special thanks to John Watkins, Leigh Cheeseman and Neil Chesterton for coordinating much of the works thus dar.
Below is a picture of the track taken on 9 January 2011.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of club members and the RC community, we have just taken delivery of a brand new decoder box to replace the one which has stolen. A computer has also been donated so that we can be back up and racing again at the start of the season (thanks in advance to John Caval for helping us set this up).
There are a number of people to thank including those that donated and purchased the auction items (most notably John Watkins, Neil Chesterton and Tekin), Ray Munday for running his car setup seminar, and those who donated funds directly to the clubs bank account. Special mention needs to go to the generous cash donations from Adam Box, Mildura RC Club, Castle Hill RC Club, Joe Machin, Mid Coast RC Club, Matthew Spencer, Andy Tonero, Piers Morton, and Anthony Salvatore.
Want to go faster without buying anything? Ray Munday will be running a seminar night in January to help share some of my knowledge and also raise some money to help pay for the new transponder system.
Details are still to be finalised, but currently:
Date: Wednesday 18 January 2012
Where: Cricket clubrooms next to track
Time: 6:30 ~ 10:30
Cost: $30/person (u16 free if accompanying adult) - includes pizza, all proceeds go to club
Payment: Via club direct debit (put your name and 'seminar' on the payment details) or cash on the night
Account Name: Keilor Electric Off-road Car Association Incorporated
Ray’s seminar will cover the fundamentals of RC car dynamics (tyres, weight transfer, diffs, suspension, jumping, racing lines) as well as how to adjust your driving style to account for these and a section on mental prep. It will be aimed at all racers (i.e. no heavy maths or physics) and I hope will help you all improve your lap times through understanding of how the cars actually work. If anyone has any particular items they want to know about, let me know and I'll see if I can incorporate them.
Update:
There will be a bunch of giveaways on the night from my sponsors, stay tuned for details of actual items.

Short Course Truck Rules
With the growing demand for a more detailed SCT rule set, we will be commencing a draft for an AARCMCC set to be published soon.
If anyone has any input, please feel free to drop me a line.
At this stage, we will be basing the initial draft on the ROAR set, with some amendments to suit our own situation.
In the words of club president John Watkins, "Keilor dominates interclub shield".
We didn't just get over the line, but we won every class, some were very close, like stock truck,Mod 4wd and 2wd 540 which all went down to the last final.
Massive thanks to all that made the trip up. A couple of special mentions , Luke Chesterton, won 6 of 6 2wd 540, Mick the doctor for getting up in less than ideal conditions through poor traffic, John Caval , Simon Atkins for backing Mick to the end. Bendigo gang, you all know why, thanks.
4wd Mod guys, i don't know how you got over the line? but who cares, awesome job!
The drifter for somehow defying all odds and winning the majority of races, as Ash struggled with the Mother off all hangovers.
All SCT drivers, just for coming and giving us some great entertainment when we all needed it.
