2011 National Offroad Titles - 20-25 April 2011 Perth, Western Australia
Report and photos by Glenn Wilson, Leigh Cheeseman and John Watkins
4wd Day
Overnight there was a light shower which made conditions first thing in the morning quite humid. With an expected top temperature of 26 degrees, it will be cooler than yesterday and there should be more cloud cover to block out the harsh afternoon sun.
The track has started to dust up but is still holding together really well. The club patched a number of holes and some of the jump faces overnight.
All eyes will be on Josh Pain to see whether he can take out the double in the modified class.
Today also sees the running of 4wd Seniors which is a demonstration class. The class is very popular here in WA and hence why it has been included on the program.

Finals
A Main 1
Most of field got away cleanly althought there was some early carnage in the middle of the field. The early front runners were Chirs Bowich, Josh Pain and Jarred King with the three swapping the lead on several occasions. The top three had a great dual all the way and were the only drivers to get the extra lap. With nothing in it, King attempted a move on Pain over the doubles which didnt come off, handing back second place to Bozich and the win to Pain.
A Main 2
After a clean first lap, Pain had a crash on the second lap, handing the lead to Jarred King. King opened up a good lead over the field leading for the next 8 laps. Pain caught King on lap 10 and made the pass however on lap 11, the two came together and got stuck against the pipe, allowing Johnston and Thomas through. Thomas held his position for the final three laps to take the win with Pain catching and passing Johnston on the last lap to take second.
A Main 3
With the result still undecided and at least three drivers still with a chance of the title, tensions were high. Pain went out hard and was never really headed, leading from start to finish taking the win by 19s (lapping the majority of the field). There was a good battle for second between Bozich and Thomas with Bozich prevailing. Fourth went to Darren Johnston.
